An exceptional, unissued example of the textbook German WWII Mountain Troops (Gebirgsjäger) sleeve insignia depicting the iconic Edelweiß flower. This is the highly sought-after, specialized variant intended specifically for application onto the lightweight canvas or drillich Mountain Windjacket (Windjacke). Unlike the common woolen tunic variants, this patch is factory-embroidered onto a correct, thin light field-gray/green cloth.

Recovered directly from a recently discovered wartime German tailor’s archive (Schneidernachlass), the patch is in pristine, mint warehouse condition. The white embroidery on the petals and the vivid yellow and green details remain incredibly sharp, vibrant, and clean, with the factory edges fully untrimmed. A scarce, textbook variant that is extremely difficult to find as a loose, unissued piece. Perfect for completing a Windjacke restoration project or for an advanced insignia display.
