An original German WWII Mountain Troops (Gebirgsjäger) sleeve insignia, depicting the iconic Edelweiß flower. This is the textbook standard issue variant, beautifully machine-embroidered on a dark green (flaschengrün) woolen badge cloth base with the traditional corded border and anchor details.
Unlike pristine warehouse stock, this specific badge was originally issued and has been carefully removed from a combat field blouse (Feldbluse). It displays an incredibly honest, attractive period patina with slight, natural piling to the wool backing and minor thread remnants along the borders from application. The embroidery itself remains completely intact, clean, and tight, with the yellow center and green stem retaining good color contrast.
