An exceptional and highly scarce German WWII Mountain Troops (Gebirgsjäger) sleeve insignia, tailored for an officer or as a premium private purchase piece (Eigentumsstück). This variant is factory-embroidered onto a dark bottle-green cotton-rib/twill base rather than the standard heavy wool. Crucially, this elite piece features distinct bright silver/aluminum metallic wire highlights integrated into the upper and lower rope links outlining the Edelweiß flower. This subtle metallic upgrade was a popular custom touch favored by officers to enhance their field uniforms.

The patch is in unissued, mint store stock condition, straight from a recently discovered wartime German tailor’s archive (Schneidernachlass).
