Pioneer Assault Boat Coxswain Badge Steuermann

WWII German Army Pioneer Assault Boat Coxswain Badge - Mint Felt Variant (Steuermann)

An exceptional, original German WWII specialist career proficiency sleeve badge (Tätigkeitsabzeichen) for an Army Assault Boat Coxswain / Helmsman (Steuermann). This trade insignia was officially worn on the lower right sleeve by personnel within Pioneer (Engineer) units who were fully qualified to pilot motorized assault craft, landing boats, and river-crossing pontoons. This specific piece is a highly desirable, documented mid-to-late war production variant, featuring a vivid golden-yellow machine-embroidered "S" enclosed by a steering-wheel wreath, applied onto a circular field-gray wool-felt backing rather than the earlier dark green wool. Recovered directly from a recently discovered wartime German tailor’s archive (Schneidernachlass), the patch is in pristine, absolute mint store stock condition. The reverse side is entirely clean with untouched construction threads. A textbook, unissued factory variation that is very difficult to upgrade.

Please note: This item is sold per individual insignia. We have a total of 2 identical patches available from this same archive. Ordering one patch will not set this product listing to "reserved", as multiple quantities remain in stock.
