Leather A-Frame Mess Kit Attachment Strap (71 cm)

An original World War II German Wehrmacht long leather equipment strap, specifically designed for horizontally attaching the mess kit (Kochgeschirr) to the top of the combat Assault Pack / A-frame. Measuring a full 71 cm in length, this specialized blackened leather strap features the correct three-loop design required to keep the mess tin stable under field conditions. The strap features 19 factory-punched oval adjustment holes, with an additional 6 holes carefully field-punched by the soldier during the war for a tighter fit. The leather remains in highly collectible, wonderfully supple condition with strong stitching and its original steel roller buckle intact. While no maker markings are readily visible due to period field use and oiling, it is an absolute textbook combat equipment accessory that is notoriously difficult to find as a loose piece. An excellent completion item for a mid-to-late war A-frame setup.
