Complete WWII Wehrmacht Infantry Leather Y-Straps - R.B.Nr. Marked
This is a very nice, complete set of original World War II German Wehrmacht infantry combat Y-straps (Koppeltragegestell für Infanterie). Officially introduced in April 1939, this heavy-duty load-bearing harness was designed to distribute the weight of the combat belt and field equipment evenly across the soldier's shoulders. Constructed from sturdy, dark-stained leather with smooth finished exteriors and natural undersides, the set features the standard wide shoulder straps joined at the back by a central metal O-ring with its correct protective leather backing piece.
A definitive infantry-pattern example, this harness is complete with its original auxiliary underarm straps (Hilfstrageriemen) and upper shoulder D-rings. These fixtures allowed for the direct integration of specialized field gear, such as the M39 combat pack or the A-frame assault pack. Adding significant value for collectors, the inner leather surface features a highly crisp and deeply struck Reichsbetriebsnummer stamp: R.B.Nr. 0/0547/0091. This code firmly attributes the manufacturing of this set to a licensed leather facility operating in the Kempen-Krefeld manufacturing district, accurately dating it to the mid-to-late war production era (circa 1943–1944) when factory names were concealed for operational security.
All adjustment holes remain solid, and the steel buckles, slides, and attachment hooks show authentic period patina and minor surface aging. The leather remains pliable and structurally sound with all principal stitching intact. This is an honest, fully marked set of combat field gear that serves as a cornerstone component for any Wehrmacht combat display or mannequin setup.
