Deutsches Jungvolk (DJ) Sleeve Insignia - Oberbann 1 (Red Variant)
This is an authentic, highly collectible World War World II German youth organization sleeve patch designated for a member of the Deutsches Jungvolk (DJ), the junior branch of the Hitler Youth for boys aged 10 to 14. Precision-executed in a classic flat BeVo weave pattern, the insignia features the iconic white Sig-rune central emblem set against a vibrant, bright red circular background (hochroter Untergrund), all woven onto a square light tan-colored rayon backing matrix. This distinct red color coding specifically denotes service within Oberbann 1 during the mid-1930s regional organization phase, before later transitioning into the standardized general issue pattern for all DJ personnel.
This piece is a fantastic, character-rich addition sourced from our recently discovered German tailor's stock (Kleingewerbe/Schneiderbestand), which contains a captivating mix of pristine manufacturing stockpiles alongside honestly worn uniform components. The patch is in wonderful, uniform-removed condition, displaying authentic fold marks and minor thread remnants along the borders where it was carefully unstitched from the youth veteran's service shirt. The reverse side beautifully exhibits the raw spool-thread trailing and unaltered weave structure essential for verifying period manufacturing. A textbook, highly visual piece of Third Reich youth history that displays exceptional character.
