Found recenlty in Germany, a highly sought-after and robust military coffee grinder (Kaffeemühle) of Italian manufacture, as widely supplied to and intensively utilized by Wehrmacht units within German field kitchens (Feldküche) during the Second World War. This ingenious heavy-metal model functions simultaneously as a secure transport case and a practical grinder; for operation, the entire grinding mechanism is simply pulled upwards, turned a quarter-turn, and locked securely onto the internal supports. The coffee grinder remains in a wonderful, characterful combat-used condition, displaying a fantastic authentic patina while being completely operational. The mechanism turns smoothly and the unit is entirely complete, including its original, detachable metal winding handle with a wooden knob, which can be safely stored inside the casing after use. An exceptionally unique and rare display piece that will make an absolute centerpiece in any serious collection of Axis field gear, personal soldier equipment, or field kitchen displays.
