Extremely Rare WWII German Luftwaffe Geräuschschutzkopfhörer – SABA 1944 – Museum Grade
An exceptionally rare, 100% original WWII German Luftwaffe Geräuschschutzkopfhörer (noise-exclusion / hearing-protection headset). This highly specialized and advanced piece of technical equipment bears the authentic Luftwaffe-contract procurement stamps (L 38201) molded into the frame and matches the original factory-applied cloth cable label (L 38234).
Manufactured in 1944 by the premium electronics firm SABA (Schwarzwälder Apparate-Bau-Anstalt), this headset was engineered exclusively for high-noise environments—such as heavy Flak batteries, bunker generator rooms, and radar operations—where passive hearing protection was mandatory for signal interception. True to this rare specialist pattern, the earpieces consist of massive, extra-deep black bakelite sound-damping capsules featuring the iconic quick-release click mechanism, allowing the operator to pop open the housings instantly for field maintenance without tools. This specific set is in phenomenal, near-mint collector condition. Most importantly, the oversized protective rubber ear-cups remain in a flawless, fully supple state without any hardening or dry rot. The original fabric-covered wiring is fully flexible, terminating in its correct, undamaged 2-pin bakelite plug. An extravagant, completely unmanipulated museum-grade masterpiece of wartime German signal equipment.
