WWI/WWII Imperial German Trench Knife (Nahkampfmesser) – ERN, Wald Rheinl.
An excellent, honest WWI Imperial German close combat trench knife (Nahkampfmesser). These high-quality blades remained highly sought after well into World War II, frequently carried as favored sidearms by WWI veterans. The blade features a razor-sharp, completely unsharpened needle point and is clearly dual-stamped. One side features the regular "ERN / WALD, RHEINL." maker mark, while the opposite side is stamped with "RASIERMESSER-FABRIK" alongside an Imperial acceptance proof. The original ribbed wooden grips are in tight, pristine condition. It comes complete with its original steel scabbard, featuring a remarkably supple leather belt loop and intact retention strap.
