WWI/WWII French/German Cavalry & Pack Saddle Girth (Sangle Mle 1889)
An original, complete military-issue pack or cavalry saddle girth (Sangle sous-ventrière Modèle 1889). Recovered in Germany, these versatile woven cotton and hemp strand girths were virtually identical to German-manufactured variants and were widely integrated and used interchangeably within the German Army. Designed to prevent chafing under heavy load, it features heavy-duty roller buckles securely fixed to strong leather reinforces. Complete with all original leather spacer bands, the assembly remains in robust, perfectly supple, and untouched battlefield-used condition.
