WWII German Wehrmacht Farrier / Hoofsmith Tool Pouch (Beschlagzeugtasche) with Tools – 1944
An exceptionally rare, complete WWII German Wehrmacht unmounted farrier's tool pouch (Beschlagzeugtasche für unberittenes Hufbeschlagpersonal). This textbook set comes complete with its original black Presstoff/leather carrying pouch, featuring all original straps, buckles, and the internal lace-up leather protective divider completely intact. Notably, while early-war variants of this pouch featured a separate linen content sheet, this scarcer late-war example features the detailed content list (Inhaltsverzeichnis) stamped directly into the interior of the main flap closure. The set includes three highly collectible, original farrier tools, each deeply stamped with wartime markings:
• Hoof Nippers (Hufeisenzange): Robust steel construction featuring a distinct, crisp early manufacturer's logo stamped into the handle joint.
• Hoof Buffer / Clinch Cutter (Unterhuan): Clearly stamped with the rare wartime manufacturer code and date "clc 44", indicating late-war production in 1944 by the prestigious firm Richard Abr. Herder, Solingen.
• Hoof Knife (Hufmesser): Features a sharp, curved blade stamped with a neat quality logo showing an arch over the initials "E.D.".
An incredibly difficult-to-find, complete specialty combat-engineer/veterinary field service assembly in a great, untouched state of preservation.
