WWII German Army (Heer) Farrier Trade Badge
An unissued WWII German Army (Heer) specialist trade badge (Tätigkeitsabzeichen) for qualified farrier personnel (Hufbeschlagpersonal / Hufbeschlagmeister). Machine-embroidered with golden-yellow thread on a dark bottle-green (flaschengrün) wool backing, this insignia was worn on the lower right sleeve by non-commissioned officers and enlisted men responsible for shoeing and caring for military horses. Horses remained vital to the Wehrmacht’s logistics, transport, and cavalry units throughout the war, making the farrier's role highly essential. This pristine, unworn specimen originates directly from a newly discovered "Schneider" stockpile in Germany, containing a mix of worn and unissued WWII cloth insignia.
