(Heer) Medical Personnel Trade Badge

WWII German Army (Heer) Medical Personnel Trade Badge
An unissued WWII German Army (Heer) specialist trade badge (Tätigkeitsabzeichen) for qualified medical personnel (Sanitätspersonal). This circular insignia features the finely machine-embroidered Rod of Asclepius in golden-yellow thread, set against a dark bottle-green (flaschengrün) wool base. Designed for wear on the lower right sleeve, it designated enlisted men and non-commissioned officers who had completed standard military medical training. The reverse displays the typical light-colored mesh buckram backing fabric characteristic of period factory construction. This exceptional, mint-condition example comes directly from the newly uncovered "Schneider" tailor stockpile discovered in Germany, preserving its crisp lines and original materials perfectly.
