WWII German Wehrmacht Signal Troops Hand Wire Reel
An original and untouched WWII German military wire reel, known as a Handtrommel or Kabeltrommel, used by the Nachrichtentruppe (Signal Troops) for laying field telephone communication wire. This field equipment item features its original wooden handles and a steel skeleton-spool construction with characteristic circular cutouts. Designed to be operated manually or slotted directly onto a Rückentrage (backpack wire-carrying frame). Discovered as an authentic German barn find, the piece remains in completely original, uncleaned condition with an honest, overall surface rust and heavy age patina, while remaining mechanically sound and intact. A great, untouched field gear item for a combat display.
