The German WWII Hitler Youth (Hitlerjugend or HJ) bread bag, known in German as a Brotbeutel, was a standard piece of personal equipment used to carry rations, eating utensils, and other personal items. The design was similar to standard German military bread bags (like the M31), featuring a main compartment with a large flap closure. The bread bag was designed to be worn attached to the belt on the right side of the back. It often came with a removable shoulder strap, though regulations typically required it to be worn on the main equipment belt, meaning the strap was often unused for its primary purpose.

This particular bread bag is in a wonderful worn condition without any significant damage, it is complete with its shoulder strap which is often missing. A nice detail on this one is that all 3 buttons used are from the pebbled aluminum type, normally to attach the shoulder boards on uniforms.
