Triple Decal Luftwaffe M35 Combat helmet

A German M35 helmet, or Stahlhelm, is the iconic steel combat helmet introduced by Germany in 1935 for all branches of its military (Wehrmacht) during World War II, recognized by its distinct "coal scuttle" shape, rolled steel edge, separate riveted ventilation lugs, and usually featuring two decals (eagle and national shield), differing from later M40 and M42 models by these features, particularly the ventilation. A sophisticated design with a rounded shell, low sides for neck/ear protection, and a visor, intended to protect against shrapnel.
Ventilation: Features distinct, separate metal ventilation lugs (eyelets) riveted to the shell, unlike the stamped vents on the later M40 and M42 models.
Edge: Has a smooth, rolled-over steel rim for safety and finish. Held by a leather liner and an adjustable leather chinstrap with metal buckles.
Decals & Paint: Early M35s often had a glossy apple green or field grey paint and two decals (national and branch-specific), though these were often removed or overpainted during the war. Manufactured from 1935 until early 1940, when it was simplified into the M40 model.

Okay, it's not exactly the prettiest helmet, but it is an original Double Actually Triple Decal helmet with the bird reapplied in a rather sloppy way. The liner is an M31 from the company B & C from 1937. The helmet is an ET64, which represents the manufacturer Eisenhuttenwerk AG, which corresponds to a head size 57. The first-model liner with the aluminum ring is broken. A very nice M35 helmet; the photos speak for themselves!
