WWII German RAD Miniature Remembrance Spade - Biberach 1935/1936 - Fully Complete
A premium, exceptionally complete German Third Reich period miniature remembrance spade (Erinnerungsspaten) from the Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD). Measuring 41.5 cm in total length, this high-grade presentation piece was custom-engraved as a career keepsake for an RAD member upon completing his compulsory service. The front of the polished aluminum spade head features a crisp, deeply engraved dedication text reading: "Zur Erinnerung an meine Arbeitsdienstzeit. 1.10.35 - 1.10.36. A.M.A Wieland Gau XXVI Abtlg. 7/266 Zug Trupp Biberach / R."]. The reverse side exhibits the prominent RAD organizational motto "Arbeit adelt" (Labor Nobles) centered around a large swastika emblem. The reverse sleeve configuration is clearly stamped with the official patent marker "D.R.G.M.".
Crucially, this specimen survives in an incredibly rare, fully complete configuration, retaining its original steel hanging chain, black leather attachment tab, and the highly elusive multi-piece fabric RAD organizational medal medallion featuring three long, pristine brown traditional silk ribbons. The wooden handle is rock-solid and retains its original smooth factory finish. An outstanding, untouched collector's ensemble with flawless regional provenance to Biberach.
