An original, solid-struck aluminum commemorative event badge (Tagungsabzeichen / Tinnie) issued for National Labor Day on May 1st, 1936 (Tag der Arbeit). Designed by the renowned artist Richard Klein, the circular obverse features a sharply detailed national eagle clutching a swastika wreath, layered over a rustic wheeled plough, a heavy riveting hammer, and a broadsword. This symbolic imagery was chosen to represent all branches of German labor, linking agrarian workers, industrial craftsmen, and the military. The reverse retains its completely original, functional horizontal safety pin mechanism set into the crimped housing. It features a crisp, raised manufacturer mark reading "W. HÖRNLEIN, GMÜND", identifying production by Wilhelm Hörnlein in Schwäbisch Gmünd. The badge remains in a wonderful, uncleaned condition with a subtle matte silver-wash patina.
