Rare cased 'Prachtausgabe' Mein Kampf

Extremely Rare 'Prachtausgabe' Mein Kampf in Original Luxury Presentation Case – Early 'Kampfzeit' & Police Transition Era (c. 1929-1935)

An absolute museum-grade ensemble for the advanced collector of early Third Reich, SA, and Ordnungspolizei history. This is a highly scarce, historically organic combination of an early presentation edition (Prachtausgabe) housed inside its original, custom-made burgundy velvet presentation case (Schatulle). This entire set is offered in the exact untouched, unmanipulated condition as it was discovered. The exterior of the box is slightly dusty and could benefit from a light cleaning to let its true colors emerge more beautifully, while the presentation case shows honest period signs of use but closes flawlessly with the hinges and functional latch remaining in fine condition. Due to a past move, someone once applied adhesive tape around the lid to prevent it from opening during transport; the resulting traces left behind are completely superficial and can easily be removed.

The Book:
This is not a standard municipal marriage edition, but a prestigious, early ceremonial issue. The binding features a deep-grained leather spine with crisp gold lettering and beautiful top-edge gilding. Mounted on the marbled front board is an extremely early NSDAP party eagle (Model 1, c. 1929-1934), featuring the compact, straight-wing design and solid swastika identical to the pattern worn on early SA Schaftmützen (Kepis). The eagle is factory-installed and untouched, secured with three flat prongs hidden beneath the mirrored internal endpaper.

The Case & The Police Eagle:
The book is housed in a burgundy leatherette case lined with dark plush and silk, featuring a functional brass latch and an early 164 mm un-crowned police eagle (Tschako-Adler) from c. 1934–1935 with an uncleaned patina. The lid's interior velvet shows a deep impression from the eagle, confirming the set has remained intact since the period.

Historical Context & Presentation Function:
Following the 1933 Machtergreifung, the German police underwent rapid nazification (Gleichschaltung), with municipal and rural forces closely cooperating with NSDAP and SA leadership before the formal 1936 consolidation. This set embodies that crossover era where state power and party ideology merged. Unlike standard marriage editions, this Prachtausgabe and custom case served an elite purpose, commissioned by regional police departments (Polizeipräsidia) as high-level presentation gifts for promotions, service anniversaries (Dienstjubiläum), retirements, and diplomatic alliances.

Absolute Certainty of Originality:
The centerpiece features a solid, three-dimensional metal party eagle factory-secured through the front board with three flat prongs hidden beneath the endpaper, which explains the custom case depth engineered to protect the lid.
